Stronger: preview screening

Hold tight. Brace yourself. You’re going to live every moment of this two hour battle. Your neck’s going to be tense, your back’s going to be tense, you’re going to have your hands over your eyes – a lot.

Phew, it is stressful, raw, real, gritty.

This is one man’s story of surviving the Boston Marathon bombing – but surviving without his legs.

Jeff Bauman’s hillbilly family are brash but ballsy and you’ll love them and hate them. You’ll be cheering Jeff on but also thinking he’s behaving like a loser (even though you don’t want to think that).

Jake Gyllenhaal should get an oscar for this powerful drama. For his powerful drama. For his face etched with pain and fear and anger – and strength. There’s been talk that his role should have been played by a disabled actor – but that’s beside the point. His performance is utterly mesmerising – through the good and the bad.
